2015 Macbook Pro a Deal or Steal?
I was on a need of a more versatile laptop than my old one. As an average student I was certainly on the hunt of a better more sturdy laptop with less issues to deal with. Recently I have bought a Macbook pro 2015 edition in silver shade. The basic thoughts on someone’s mind at the moment will surely be why choosing a Mac device over windows?
The answer lies upon only one basic criteria as a student or a person who doesn’t prefer working endless hours to fix a common issue. The 2015 Macbook Pro works wonders in this aspect as there is little to no setup fuss required. If you already own an Apple device like I do then most certainly it will be a piece of cake for any average person to set it up, where as in a same laptop operating on windows will give you the ride of your life while setting it up. Im not a tech expert by any means but all I can state as an average consumer is that the 2015 MacBook Pro works charm on all my everyday duties. From here I will be splitting the advantages of the 2015 MacBook Pro based on different points:
PRICE TAG
If you are searching for a laptop on a budget the 2015 MacBook Pro is the laptop you should probably go for. Considering you are not a gamer, to an average consumer the MacBook can be an amazing deal as it fits the pocket at around $530-$560 for a really good one. Granted you can always grab offers on way less than what I paid initially.
DESIGN, WEIGHT & SIZE
The MacBook Pro comes in size option with 13.3inch and is an absolute feather compared to my old Asus as it only weighs around 2.205 pounds or 1.58 kgs. Yes it is not the most thinnest or lightest laptop on the market but it surely will not be the cause of your backaches when you travel with it. The 2015 MacBook Pro is still an absolute eye candy with beautiful aluminium finsh and black bezels. This variant of the MacBook series also offer the “Glowing Apple Logo” which is sure to catch a lot of eyes.
KEYBOARD AND BATTERY LIFE
This generation of the MacBook Pro offers the Butterfly keyboard and honestly it is NOT the best keyboard I have ever used but it surely is not a headache to deal with and the amazing trackpad of the MAC takes the cake as well as compensates for its okayish keyboard. The battery life for a 7 year old laptop is certainly not heavenly but it gets the job done and lasts a good 3 hours on heavy use and almost lasts a day keeping in mind that you're a normal user. The MagSafe 2 adapter/charger provided with the laptop is just a piece of art as just connects magically to the charging port and chargers the laptop in about 1.5–2 hours, however charging time can be much reduced with the use of a more wattage power adapters which are NOT that expensive on Amazon.com, I will list a few below;
CAMERA , SPEAKERS AND MICROPHONES
The 2015 MacBook Pro offers a 720P HD camera which in context is very simmilar to an iPhone 7’s camera which is by NO means a bad camera it does more than a fantastic job for all your Zoom/Ms teams meetings. The speakers in the MAC also pack a punch for their small size at the sound is definetly noticeable and it is at times too much at high volumes. The microphones offered in the MAC are decent and can be used for FaceTime as well as Zoom/Teams meetings too.
PERFORMANCE AND PORTS
The 2015 MacBook Pro is an absolute hefty machine with 8gb RAM which can be further upgraded into 16 Gbs of RAM. I will not get into much detail with specifications as even I am as least interested to read a bunch of complex words which make no sense, but I can say this with authority that the MacBook Pro is a capable and strong machine even by 2022 standards. The MacBook can also be used for occasional gaming and it handles quite a few high graphic games easily. The port situation on the MacBook pro is not as bad as the MacBook air and consists of a Magsafe 2 charging port, 2 thunderbolt ports, 2 USB A ports, a HDMI port, a memory card slot and a headphone jack.
SOFTWARE AND APPLE ECOSYSTEM
As a hardcore windows user in the previous years it was kind of complex to understand the OS at first, however if you own/owned another Apple device the OS will look quite familiar to you and you will easily fully understand it in a few hours of usage. The Apple Ecosystem is probably the most convinient part of owning a MacBook as it becomes so easy to connect with other Apple devices. For instance, my Airpods Pro switch between both my iPhone and my MacBook like butter and even sending files to my laptop has never been easier before.
CONCLUSION
In contrast to all the points above and my personal usage I would surely suggest the 2015 MacBook Pro to anyone who is looking for a better alternative to their laptop on a budget. For a Student like me, a coffee shop, an office employee and even a learning video editor, the MacBook is probably the most sufficient laptop of all under the $600 mark. This machine is truly a work of art and I would definetly reccomend it to all the fellow viewers reading this article.
